I created this parody together with Janine, and when we were deciding what themes we could write lyrics about, we chose to take details from our own lives as students under a lot of stress (especially heading into finals week!). There is also an element of hope in the parody lyrics about gaining solace from listening to music, having a moment of "inner peace". I hope listeners will be able to resonate with the lyrics. Our production is a solid "parody" as a result of the meaning behind the lyrics as well as the manner in which we sung them while recording: we attempted to 'harmonize badly' with myself trying for an extremely high pitch and having voice breaks, while Janine sung at a low tone. I had a lot of fun recording our song and editing the audio tracks: I value knowing how to navigate Pro Tools as I decide which effects fit with the song, and I am proud of the skills I've learned. Compared to visual or video editing, I think that editing, mixing, and incorporating audio is a lot more of a risk-taking process. To produce something you are happy with and proud of, you first have to experience confidence to record yourself, following your ideas and inspiration.
